Norma Lewis has published 19 books almost evenly split between children’s books and Michigan histories. She particularly enjoys doing humorous picture books about animals. After mediocre careers in accounting and sales, she found her true passion. Writing! She honed her craft doing hundreds of humor, children’s, travel, and miscellaneous other magazine pieces before turning her attention to books. She loves participating in book events where she can meet her readers and watch people thumb through one of her silly animal books and laugh out loud.
When she isn’t writing, she enjoys traveling, especially to Alaska and Great Britain. She has explored Alaska by ferry, bus, rental car, train, bush plane and motor home. Her next trip will be a return to Britain to revisit some favorite places and also explore Cornwall, the Channel Islands, and the Scottish Highlands. Norma lives in Grand Haven, Michigan, with a marmalade cat named Scalawag who relentlessly pursues new ways to live up to his name. They both enjoy spending time with her grandchildren.
